How to Receive Rolfing sessions
We recommend you to try the first session before you commit to go through the whole 10 series. Rolfng experience is different and unique to individuals. Receiving the first session will help you to have an idea what Rolfing is like.
Please understand that Rolfing is NOT a Medical Treatment. Some clients experience the decrease of chronic pain in the back and shoulders etc as a result of the structural change in their body, however, the purpose of Rolfing is not to eliminate specific pain. Rolfing is primarily achieved through education, by releasing and reorganizing the myofascial network through the use of the hands and elbows with controlled pressure and direction. If you have concerns, please seek for a medical advice.
Ideally client should receive a session every week, however, if your schedule doesn't allow you to do so, it can be done once a month. It is said that client should stop receiving Rolfing after session 3 (superficial/sleeve session) if you are not able to come back for a long period of time. It is also said that client should receive session 4~7 (core sessions) periodically without long breaks between sessions. As inner mouth is treated during session 7, client should not be receiving dental treatment just before that.
Please note that we charge the cancelation fee if you are unable to let us know 24 hours before the session. If you are late for the appointment more than 30 minutes, there will be no session and we also charge the cancelation fee.
You can wear fitness underwear or swimsuits.If you have any problem with wearing those, please let us know. We will make some arrangements. We would like you to be comfortable during sessions.
We recommend you to take liquid and a nice and short walk after each session. After Rolfing session, the fascia (connective tissue) will be rejuvenated and the body will require more liquid to be absorbed to the softened muscle tissue. Please make sure you are hydrated well after session. If you feel tired, you should stop working and rest well. If you feel energized, take a short walk or do slow and gentle stretching to feel the body and let it adjust to the structural change. Slow and gentle exercise will help the body to integrate the structural change.
